Introduction
No matter which supermarket you go to, you'll find all kinds of products from all over the world. In the past most products only came from the Netherlands. Today supermarkets sell lots of exotic products. We also don't have the problem of seasonal food. Strawberries, for example, used to be available in late spring and summer. Nowadays we can ship these strawberries from other parts of the world where it is summer during our winter.
What to do?
For this assignment you'll work in pairs
Part 1
1. Go to a supermarket
2. Find products that come from foreign countries.
Tip: Look at 'land van herkomst' or 'LVH' on the products.
Tip: Fruit and vegetables are most useful for your assignment.
3. Make a picture of the products and the label 'land van herkomst/LVH'.
4. Choose 5 different products from 5 different countries from different continents.
Part 2
Write a report in word about these 5 products:
Make sure you have additional information:
- How is the product transported?
- In what kind of environment is the product cultivated?
- Which kind of companies are involved?
- A nice introduction
